Around a year ago, Caeylin Menzie earned his first college offer, and from that moment, the class of ’27 athlete has experienced a lot of trials and tribulations. Menzie was motivated heading into fall camp to win the #1 RB spot at 4A private school powerhouse Benedictine, but unfortunately, Menzie suffered a broken arm in the preseason that sidelined him.
The adversity did not stop, and around the same time, Menzie’s father was diagnosed with prostate cancer, so the family decided it was best to move closer to his local high school in Richmond Hill instead.
“Despite those challenges, I’m now fully healthy and more motivated than ever. I’ve stayed consistent in my training, continued to develop my game, and I’m focused on earning every opportunity moving forward. I play with a chip on my shoulder and a purpose that goes beyond football—I’m driven to make the most of every moment for myself and my family,” Menzie said earlier this offseason.
The focus and hard work have been the hallmarks of this offseason, and Menzie is making the most of every opportunity. He was named a Rivals Elite Camp standout, impressed at the Under Armour Camp, and at the Mercer Mega Camp, he earned offers from Toledo, Reinhardt, and Austin-Peay. Then Hampton offered at the Kennesaw State Mega Camp. That now adds to his offer total to 8, including ECU, Georgia State, UMASS, and Shorter, along with the previously mentioned camp offers.
No matter how you slice it, Menzie has made the most of his opportunities this offseason.
“This offseason has been extremely productive for me. I’ve stayed consistent in the weight room, and our coaching staff has continued to push me daily to reach my full potential. Coach Matt LeZotte has played a major role in my development—helping me grow not only as a player, but also by guiding me through the recruiting process and building strong relationships with college coaches,” Menzie said.
The Richmond Hill program has been first-class for Menzie, as he continues to work on his athletic development daily. Just last month in May, he hit a top speed of 21 mph and right at 200 lbs. He looks more than ready to hit this summer camp circuit and continue to make recruiting noise.
“Recruiting has continued to build momentum. I’ve been intentional about forming real relationships and maintaining consistent communication. After a slow start, I’m grateful to have earned D1 offers,” he said.
With summer break well underway, Menzie will continue his busy schedule moving around the Southeast at various camps, but he did close out this interview by highlighting some 2026 season goals.
“Heading into the 2026 season, my goal is simple: stay healthy, stay consistent, dominate, lead my team on a deep playoff run, and continue elevating my game while earning more opportunities at the next level.”
That feels simple enough, and when life gets complicated, more times than not, focusing on basic variables to control is the best direction. For Menzie, his resolve over this last year to overcome an injury, deal with the hardship of his father’s prostate cancer, all while managing a successful recruitment that will shape his future, is nothing short of inspirational.
