Green Cashing In This Offseason

Douglass JR two-way player Zalen Green is a prospect ready to explode onto the recruiting scene. This track season, each week Green has been improving, posting top times of 10.59 and 10.61, and today, Green ran a state-best 10.31 100m time.

Of course, Green is not just a track star, although we have been watching him run sub-10.8 100m times for two years now. The explosive skill player was a scoring threat throughout the 2025 season, taking short screen passes out to the flat and getting upfield with urgency. Green has elite speed, and that has caught the attention of college scouts.

Just yesterday, on April 13th, Green was offered by UPenn, and at the start of April, ECU submitted an offer. Green also holds offers from Samford, Georgia State, and Mercer.

The 2027 prospect stands around 5’10” and weighs a stout 180 lbs, showing physical traits that should open up a lot of positions at the next level. Considering Green’s elite speed, some might even believe CB could be the most natural fit, granted, film is more or less limited. Last season, Green made a nice chase-down on a West Forsyth player with a 10-year head start, showcasing the speed and hustle necessary. That said, his ability to break open into the open field and score from anywhere on offense is unquestionable.

Green is not just fast on the field; he has excellent grades with a 4.1 GPA and a 28 ACT score. That should elevate him with Ivy League programs like UPenn, but we suspect more FBS programs will jump into the fray soon.

As of now, Green tells us that he is hearing the most from East Carolina and Mercer. That should change, and historically speaking, a guy running under a 10.5 100m time usually perks up most P4 scouts, so keep an eye on Green’s recruitment and athletes across the state by following @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X.
