What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

Knowledge of the game, vision, catching, speed, route running

Smith was in the RB rotation last year and is prime for a breakout season in 2024. The 2025 back is good at reading his blocks and has nice acceleration. Smith squares up his pads and gets vertical with his running, utilizing his good burst to get chunks of yardage. He has good forward lean, and considering his 5’8″ frame, Smith can really generate momentum hitting the 2nd level of the defense. He can drive a pile despite being a smaller back. Smith plays well behind his pads, but needs to continue to get stronger. He’s improved breaking tackles and keeping his balance through the tackle attempt. What I like the most about Smith is when he finds a seam, he really hits that hole hard showing a lot of urgency. There are flashes of big plays as a junior, but we feel like he can produce a lot more as a senior. With several offensive playmakers gone, Smith has a chance to see his offensive load increase a good bit this season. Some major recruiting ground can be made during that stretch, but even before, we feel like local programs will grow interested in Smith’s skill set. Well, this scouting report has aged well. Smith is currently one of the 6A leaders in rushing and through 8 games he has 1062 yards rushing. The senior back has impressed bouncing in and out of the tackles, even showing more in the passing game making catches out in the flat. Final senior year stats – 1403 and 15 TDs with a total of 624 YAC.
