Dream Come True For Collins Hill Athlete

Written by: Mike Faulkner

Collins Hill High School athlete Travis Hunter, a class of 2022 recruit, had previously committed to Florida State University back on March 3rd, 2020. The rising junior spoke about his decision, “I always wanted to go to FSU and it was a dream come true,” he said.

Hunter chose Florida State because of the relationship he developed with the coach that recruited. “It all came into play,” Hunter said. Hunter also had offers from Auburn, LSU and Georgia among other FBS programs.

The pandemic has not stopped the young athlete from working out or preparing for the upcoming season.

“I still train two times a day and these circumstances can’t stop me, I have to keep working,” Hunter continued. “I am still watching plenty of new and old film during these times.”

Hunter believes that his team is going to have a good season this year and is going to make a good run for the state championship – he believes in his team.

Other players on the Collins Hill High School football roster are getting looks as well. “Our Quarterback, Sam Horn, a couple of defensive linemen, and receivers are also getting offers from schools too,” Hunter said.

Last year Hunter played on both sides of the football, totaling 9 interceptions and 12 touchdowns, which cemented himself as one of the top two-way players in the state of Georgia. His team is definitely a program to watch here in 2020, they have one of biggest schools in the state, and tons of talent coming through the pipeline.
