Version 2.0 of the North Georgia Player Rankings sees expansion from a Top 175 to a Top 230 with 56 new names. Each new name is highlighted blue.
Falling out of the Top 230 is former Carrollton defensive lineman Josh Walker. Walker recently transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Defensive end Kingsley Enagbore of Peachtree Ridge is the highest new entry at #66. This past season he was named 6-AAAAAAA First Team All-Region. The “King” recently balled out at the Georgia Junior Elite Classic recording 7.5 tackles, five TFL’s and three sacks.
Coming in at #87 is two-sport star Turner Nims of Dunwoody High School. Nims was the second leading receiver in DeKalb County last season snagging 43 passes for 942 yards and eight scores. Through the first 14 games of his junior hardwood season Nims is netting 12.7 points per contest.
Interior defensive linemen are always a hot commodity on the recruiting front and a name to know is Deporess Schletty of Alpharetta. At 6-foot-4, 275-pounds Schletty already possesses the desired length and girth to attract college recruiters. In nine games as a junior he recorded 33 tackles, seven TFL’s and 2.5 sacks. Schletty makes his entry at #88.
Long linebackers are a necessity at the next level as they double as pass rushers and lateral deterrents versus the spread offense. Ricky Williams of Harrison High School meets those physical requirements at 6-foot-3, 210-pounds. As a junior he recorded 93 tackles, 12 TFL’s and eight sacks for the Hoyas. He comes in at #90.
Next up at #93 is defensive end Caleb Tannor of Miller Grove. Tannor led the Wolverines in tackles with 54 stops. He also racked up 10.5 TFL’s and four sacks on his way to being named 5-AAAAA Honorable Mention All-Region.
Right on Tannor’s heels at #94 is two-sport star Noah Frith of Woodstock. Frith blends long strider’s speed with excellent length and freaky body control. As a junior he caught 70 passes for 826 yards and 15 touchdowns. He was honored as 4-AAAAAAA Honorable Mention. Frith is also a key member of the Wolverines basketball squad.
The final new member in the Top 100 is linebacker Blake Carroll of Mountain View. Carroll left his mark on both sides of the ball this past season recording 65 tackles, three sacks and six PBU’s in ten games. He also carried the ball 40 times for 314 yards and three scores. Carroll was named 6-AAAAAAA First Team All-Region. In the Georgia Junior Elite Classic he racked up four tackles and one TFL.
The North Georgia Top 230 will be updated and expanded, but we need your help in finding the college stars of tomorrow whether they are FBS, FCS or DII. If you feel that a player from North Georgia in the class of 2018 is missing please feel free to contact us via twitter @BVEvery or @RecruitGeorgia.
Our goal is to help as many football players in the state of Georgia reach their goal of playing football on a full or partial scholarship. In the end it’s the education that a student athlete receives that will eventually carry them through life. Football is a great sport but it comes to an end at an early age.
