Tyrieke Wade
SR Valdosta
Quarterback
In a game where every possession, no, every play mattered, Tyrieke Wade out of Valdosta was that guy. The 2026 passer completed 14-of-20 passing for 201 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 56 yards in a 23-14 win against Lowndes. Capping off the regular season of senior year with a Winnersville Classic couldn’t be sweeter. For Wade, his attention immediately turns to Round 1 of the GHSA playoffs, where 9-1 #5-ranked Valdosta matches up against Dacula. Wade has been impressive orchestrating the Valdosta offense, completing 78% of his passes for 1487 yards and 16 touchdowns. He has tallied another 323 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns on 50 carries.
Ty Cummings
SR West Laurens
Running Back
The Thursday night matchup against Westside-Augusta was among the best from Week 12 and had the Region 4 title on the line. Ty Cummings rushed 29 times for 263 yards and three touchdowns, helping his team to a 27-3 win. Cummings finished the regular season as the GHSA’s leading rusher with 2,107 yards. The state’s leading rusher remains committed to Georgia Southern but has taken recent visits to Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Alabama.
Justin Powell
SR Toombs Co.
Running Back
Another region title on the line, and another senior athlete stepped up. Toombs County beats Savannah Christian 52-24, and two-way athlete Justin Powell rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries and had three sacks on defense. Through 10 games, the senior has 1023 yards, on 100 carries and 21 touchdowns. Toombs County is our #1 team in Class A DI and #24 overall heading into the GHSA playoffs as they look to repeat as D1 champs.
Vic Copeland
SR Fitzgerald
Athlete
Fitzgerald’s Vic Copeland broke open the game in the 4th quarter with touchdown runs of 25 and 65 yards, helping his team to a 35-21 win over Jeff Davis. The SR rushed for 206 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries. Fitzgerald finishes 7-2 on the year and wins the Region 1 title. They will face ACE in the first round of the playoffs.

JT Austin
JR Sandy Creek
Edge
The Sandy Creek junior was incredible in the region title game against Troup, totaling 4 sacks and 5 tackles for a loss. Spearheaded by the edge rushers’ ability to get into the backfield, they held one of 3A’s most dangerous dual-threat athletes to just 160 total yards. Austin almost had a one-handed interception off the edge and batted down a pass that was barely forward, almost causing a fumble. Sandy Creek wins the Region title 42 to 17 over Troup. FSU became his first P4 offer today.
La’Gracion Little
JR Clarke Central
Wide Receiver
The Clarke Central JR receiver was amazing, grabbing 250 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns on 8 receptions in the first half alone. Clarke Central storms away 59-24. Clarke Central finishes 5-5 on the year and 4-2 in region play, earning a #3 seed and facing off against Effingham County. That should be an electric offense showcase between the two teams, where Little figures to have another great offensive output, helping his team to a first-round win.
Nolan Matthews
SR Lumpkin Co.
Running Back
Matthews makes the top players of the week again. The heart of the Lumpkin County offense helped his team secure a playoff spot in a 29-22 win over Pickens County on Halloween night. He put up scary numbers, rushing for 235 yards on 33 attempts and two touchdowns. Matthews has been a workhorse this season and continues to be among the most underrated players in his class. His speed on film is obvious, but that will be tested against top-ranked Calhoun in the first round of the playoffs. You can already hear the upset alarm going off.

Layne Vaughn
SR Gordon Lee
Athlete
Gordon Lee’s Layne Vaughn continues to have one of the best seasons in Class A DI. In a blowout 45-7 win over recent Region 7 powerhouse Fannin County, Vaughn was magnificent, taking 14 carries for 70 yards and 1 touchdown, then 15 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, and 2 pass breakups on defense. Gordon Lee finishes the year 9-1 and 7-0 in region play. They will face off against Towers in the First round of the playoffs.

Xavier Ivey
SR Redan
Athlete
Redan SR Xavier Ivey was all over the field in a huge 22-20 win over South Atlanta to help secure the #3 position in Region 6. Ivey had one interception, 10 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, a forced fumble, and a recovery, along with 9 catches for 117 yards on offense. There are only so many plays in a game, and what Ivey accomplished in just one game demonstrates why Redan has shown a lot of grit in 2025. They will face off against Carver-Columbus, the reigning 2A champs, in this upcoming first-round game.
Brysen Davies
SR Northgate
Linebacker
Watch Brysen Davies long enough, and you’ll notice how much the SR loves to play linebacker. Each week, his tackle total stacks faster than the latest crypto meme coin craze, and in Northgate’s 24-6 win over Dutchtown, he had 17 tackles, an interception, a sack, and several QB hurries. Northgate wins a three-way tiebreaker in the region and lands the #2 seed, facing off against Villa Rica in the first round. The Marshall commit will look to continue to add to his state-leading 156 tackles.
