CJ Cypher
SOPH Carrollton
Quarterback

Carrollton took down a top 15 team in 7A in East Coweta, 48-17. The Trojans scored on all 7 possessions with sophomore CJ Cypher completing 22-of-29 passes for 440 yards and 6 touchdowns. Cypher has been radioactive this season, leading the state in passing with 3164 yards, 48 touchdowns, and a jaw-dropping 0 interceptions on 270 attempts. Cypher’s 152 QBR is elite and is one of the most efficient signal-callers in Georgia over the last 10 years.

Daylan Maxwell
SR Jackson Co.
Running Back

Jackson County senior Daylan Maxwell ran for 218 yards and two touchdowns to beat Clarke Central and win the Region 8 title. With the game tied at halftime, 7-7, Jackson County pulled away to win 33-14. Maxwell, the preseason All-State RB, has rushed for 1373 yards and 17 touchdowns this season with an 8.2-yard-per-carry average. Jackson County is our #24 team in the GHSA 25.

Jaiden Knight
SR Appling County
Running Back

The heavyweight battle between the 3A powers was a true slugfest, with Appling County taking down the #1-ranked Toombs County 11-7. Senior back Jaiden Knight rushed for 204 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Appling County, who was our preseason #3 team, moves to #1 in our 3A rankings. The 6’1″, 193-lb. running back has 1201 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on the season.

Marco Huff
SOPH Commerce
Running Back

Sophomore Marco Huff broke open the game against Athens Academy, taking a 14-13 halftime score to 49-20. The dynamic sophomore back had 205 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns on 19 carries. Huff has over 1200 yards and 21 touchdowns on the season now. Commerce comes at #6 in our Class 2A rankings.

Da’Kobie Henry
SR Taylor Co.
Running Back

The Taylor County single-game rushing touchdown record was broken last week with senior Da’Kobie Henry rushing for 7 touchdowns and 175 yards in a 74-19 thumping of Marion County. Amazingly, Henry had five two-point conversions as well, giving the senior 52 total points for the game. Truly remarkable.

Kaiden James
SR Callaway
Wide Receiver

Callaway destroys Central-Macon on Thursday by a score of 42-6, and the senior receiver had 200 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. The 6’2″ senior has an FBS-caliber frame and was too much for the Central team, breaking into the open field for big plays; in many cases, several defenders had to bring him down.

Tyree Carter
JR Pebblebrook
Athlete

The Pebblebrook junior had 232 receiving yards on 9 receptions in a wild 62-45 win over Kennesaw Mountain. Carter’s 280 all-purpose yards and 5 touchdowns were among the best from any receiver in Georgia from Week 11. The explosive athlete was featured the previous week in the top 10 plays where he made a great over-the-shoulder diving touchdown catch.

Jordan Singleton
SR Mary Persons
Quarterback

Mary Persons senior Jordan Singleton made the top performers list earlier this year, and he did it once more, completing 15 of 21 passes for 313 passing yards and 4 touchdowns. Mary Persons beats Spalding by a score of 38-14. This is a big one for Mary Persons, really solidifying themselves as a top 15 team in 4A. The senior QB has been a major reason why. His offensive uplift has allowed Mary Persons to compete against 4A’s best teams.

Rex Greene
JR Flowery Branch
Quarterback

Greene has another great performance to make the top performers list. The junior completed 32 of 37 passes for 379 passing yards and 3 touchdowns in a dramatic 37-34 win over East Forsyth. Greene spread the football around to four different receivers for over 50 yards, and three different receivers caught a touchdown.

Makyree Cross
SR Collins Hill
Quarterback

The senior passer had one of the wildest stat lines of Week 11. He posted 521 total yards and 6 touchdowns, throwing 485 passing yards on 15 completions and 5 touchdowns in an exciting 42-34 win over Mill Creek. The 6’2″, 175-lb. senior also rushed for 36 yards to boot. Collins Hill has won back-to-back shootouts against Dacula and Mill Creek now, combining for 94 points in consecutive weeks. They have won four of their last five games with the senior passer really hitting his stride the last two weeks.

Titus Mapp Jr
JR Stockbridge
Linebacker

The junior stopper has another great game, getting 16 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, and 2 sacks in a 47-0 blowout win against Eastside. That’s pretty ho-hum for Mapp, but putting a goose egg up against Eastside is noteworthy. Mapp continues to show a great nose for the football. He has 288 career tackles. With another season of high school ball remaining, it’s wild to think how many tackles he will finish with.

Riley Braiden
SR Providence Christian
Quarterback

Providence Christian gets the huge 20-7 win over Rabun County in Week 11, where the junior passer completed 28 out of 41 passes for 325 yards and 1 touchdown. They will get a chance for 2nd place in the region with a win over Commerce this upcoming Friday. And regardless of the result, Providence Christian is a dangerous team heading into the Private playoffs where the 6’4″ passer figures to be a difference-maker.

Joseph Alvarez
JR Lumpkin Co.
Running Back

The junior back took with 162 rushing yards on 26 carries and had a whopping 5 touchdowns in a 43-19 statement game against Morgan County. Alvarez is a quick, 5’8″ runner who has 813 rushing yards on the season and 11 touchdowns. The win continues the pace for the most confounding region in the GHSA, but Lumpkin County kept their heads down and played strong football. They look like a top 15 program in 3A and should be a tough team to face in the playoffs.

Sawyer Purdy
JR Pickens Co.
Wide Receiver

The junior receiver was unstoppable, catching 6 passes for 202 yards and 4 touchdowns, plus 1 rushing touchdown in a wild 48-41 win over Gilmer. The speedy Pickens receiver had his longest play go for 84 yards. Purdy is a twitchy, athletic receiver, and Gilmer really just didn’t have an athlete that could match up with his speed in the open field.

Arthur Holt IV
SR Mt. Zion
Athlete

Mt. Zion dominated Riverdale 57-7, and the senior athlete had himself a special night. Holt IV threw for 364 passing yards and 5 touchdowns and then rushed 192 yards for one more additional score. No film yet from this great performance by the senior, who we highlighted earlier this year in the top 10 plays of the week; Holt intercepted a pass and returned it 100 yards for a score. The super athletic senior continues to be way under the radar for now, but has a 6’3″ frame with solid film and production.
