Trey Smith
2026 Roswell
Quarterback
The game of the week lived up to the billing with a remarkable 48-45 Roswell win over Gainesville. The top 5 matchup was littered with stars, but junior QB Trey Smith stood head and shoulders among the rest. Smith completed 12-of-20 passing for 251 yards and a touchdown continued to the damage on the ground with 93 yards and three touchdowns. The final rushing touchdown gave his team a 48-37 lead with 4 mins left in the game. No film at the time of writing from this matchup, but we do have Smith’s first four games included.
Carson Callihan
2025 Fannin Co.
Running Back
Fannin County stormed away from Christian Heritage 48-21 and Carson Callihan was incredible rushing for 301 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries. The senior back broke off a 96-yard touchdown showing off his speed as he blasted past the pursuit. The senior has 1422 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns on the year with a whopping 9.2 yards per carry. Berry and Sewanee are recent offers while Kennesaw and Georgia Southern continue to show interest in the senior.
D.J. Hudson
2025 Peach Co.
Quarterback
Peach County’s DJ Hudson has been unbelievable in 2024 helping his team to the #1 ranking in 3A. Last week’s 48-17 win over #8 ranked Cairo was another great performance for the senior. He was 10-of-17 passing for 193 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 149 yards. At one point, Peach County trailed in the 2nd quarter but rallied with five touchdowns led by Hudson. The senior has made several remarkable runs this season, including another last week where he weaved around the pursuit for almost 50 yards, breaking countless tackles. Hudson’s ability to break tackles, make decisions on the fly, and find the open receiver shines on film. He will be a front-runner to be All-State come December. Hudson was offered by Fort Valley State last week and suspect his recruitment will continue to garner more interest.
Colter Vela
2025 North Forsyth
Athlete
North Forsyth’s senior Colter Vela was everywhere on the field during last Friday’s 24-14 win over Alpharetta. The senior rushed for three touchdowns, caught an interception while blocking a PAT, and totaled 10 tackles on defense. Vela impacted the game in all three phases, scored all three touchdowns and his one interception was in the endzone, stopping Alpharetta from scoring. Hard to find a guy putting in more work last weekend than Vela. He was named 1st team All-County as a junior, Region 2-way Player of the Year, and All-State HM on the site. Great student too with a 4.1 GPA.
Terrious Favors
2026 Carver-Atlanta
Wide Receiver
Carver-Atlanta’s big win over Lovett captured the attention of 2A and junior receiver Terrious Favors’ performance will be one to remember. The speedy junior had 263 receiving yards on 8 catches and 4 touchdowns. His team pulls away 47-17, setting up a huge matchup in two weeks against Hapeville Charter that will decide the region championship. Favors has great speed running 10.83 100m and 21.5 200m. The staff at Carver-Atlanta is high on his FBS potential.
Brock Tankersley
2025 Stephens Co.
Athlete
Senior two-way athlete Brock Tankersley had 3 receptions for 47 yards, 6 carries for 37 yards and a touchdown. Then on defense, he totaled 18 tackles and an interception in a big 37-34 win over Hart County. The 5’10” 180 lbs. athlete plays the game with a high, capable of playing various positions, wherever his team needs him. What else could beat senior night and win against your arch-rival? Tankersley is the son of a coach and plays like it. His senior film reminds me of a former favorite, Markeith Montgomery.
KJ Whitehead
2025 Athens Acd.
Defensive Back
KJ Whitehead only needed 3 receptions to score two touchdowns. He also had 93 yards on offense and 12 tackles on defense. One touchdown was a tip drill where Whitehead elevated over the Rabun County defensive back and corralled the pass then sprinted the final bit for a score. Athens Academy finished the regular season undefeated and the 34-28 win over Rabun Co. clinches a region title. Whitehead’s physicality on both sides of the football was a huge factor last weekend, and for that matter, the entirety of the season.
Mark Howard
2025 Woodland-Stockbridge
Running Back
Woodland-Stockbridge’s Mark Howard was incredible last Friday carrying the football 30 times for 309 yards and 4 touchdowns. The utilization and production by the senior is amazing. He averaged 10.7 yards per carry. Woodland-Stockbridge gets the 42-27 win over McDonough. For the season, Howard now had 1386 rushing yards on 191 carries. Howard is one of the toughest runners still uncommitted in his class, driving through tacklers and showing good quickness in tight spaces.
Marlin Mathis
2025 Shiloh
Running Back
Mathis returns with another great performance! The Shiloh senior is a standout for the 2nd consecutive week with his 303 rushing yards and 3 touchdown performance. More importantly, Shiloh clinches a playoff bid with their 29-21 win over Lakeside-Atlanta. Marthis’ last three games are crazy. He has 643 yards on 72 carries and 7 touchdowns. Shiloh jumps back into the playoffs, and considering their current level of play, the could be a tough out.
Corben Dixon
2025 Sonoraville
Linebacker
Last week’s leading tackler was Corben Dixon with 22. The senior out of Sonoraville helped his team with a 32-30 win over Union County, which was an absolute thriller that went into OT. Sonoraville’s regular season is unfortunately over but the senior currently leads the state with 145 tackles. Dixon is a hard-hitting linebacker whose productivity is predicated on his great hustle after the football. He is a stout 6′ 205 lbs. with a 4.0 GPA. Dixon finished off his last two HS games with a total of 42 tackles.
