Last season, Class 4A was loaded with elite defensive talent like North Oconee’s Khamari Brooks and Benedictine’s Ladamion Guyton, both seniors who were considered among the best edge rushers in the country, but in our opinion, the most dominant defender in 4A was Creekside JR Tavarre Terrell.
Not sure if that’s a mic drop, or a ‘no cap’ moment (probably not to the Creekside community), but after attending the state title games, and watching Terrell dominate that side of the ball against Benedictine, you have to become a believer.
Last season, the All-State linebacker had 24.5 tackles for a loss and was #2 in the state with 20.5 sacks. There is constant pressure with Terrell coming off the edge, and he seems to have an elite ability to get his hands on the football, ripping the ball away, intercepting a pass or just being at the right place to recover a fumble. His elite motor really pays dividends, and it’s hard to find a player in the class of ’27 who constantly flows to the football like the Creekside linebacker.
“This offseason has been going great. Just straight working and running track,” Terrell said.
Colleges have jumped on board with offers this offseason, and Terrell feels good about where he stands.
“I feel good about my recruitment going well. Schools that stand out to me are ECU, USF, and Coastal Carolina,” he said.
So far, Terrell has visits planned to GSU, App State, and Coastal Carolina for this spring, but those can be fluid. Be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear the latest on the explosive linebacker and players across the state of Georgia.
