Sentell is a Sleeper

One of North Georgia’s biggest sleeper athletes is Lafayette’s Porter Sentell. The 2026 athlete plays across the field and is one of the fastest players in his area with a 100m time of 10.68 and a 200m at 21.86.

That’s blazing fast and creates an explosive pop that few athletes in the state truly showcase. Sentell demonstrated his excellent athleticism last week when he high-pointed a touchdown pass in the back of the endzone over three defenders.

Many would argue this was the catch of the 2025 season so far, and on Sunday night, Sentell was named to the weekly top 10 plays of the week. Another 24 hours, and he was voted the #2 play of the week.

“The start has been great; just trying to perfect the small things week by week before region play. Playing WR in a Wing T, I haven’t got the ball much, but just over about 250 yards and 2 TDs so far,” Sentell said.

The senior has a concise list of goals to achieve this season.

“Some goals I have are to get over 1k all-purpose, make playoffs, gain more offers, and earn All-Region,” he said.

During the offseason, Sentell took advantage of the college coaching during the summer camp circuit.

“I’ve improved the most from learning how to gain separation from DBs while running routes at Berry and Sewanee,” he said.

As of now, Sentell’s only visit planned is to Berry. With his explosiveness and great body control, along with strong hands to make last week’s catch, Sentell showcases the athleticism D1 programs supposedly covet. And while that sounds good and all on paper, Sentell’s recruitment is still waiting for that spark that could vault him onto more colleges’ radar.

That moment could be around the corner, we think at least, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X and see more great plays plus recruiting news from across the state of Georgia.
