Throughout the 2025 season, Mondarius Reese showed flashes of brilliance at KIPP Academy. With 210 yards receiving and an impressive 21-yard per catch average, Reese’s electric track speed creates potent matchups while also showcasing immense potential as a defensive back.
With the spring semester well underway, Reese is now at Douglas County. He talked about the offseason and adjusting to a new school.
“The offseason went great. I really focused on getting stronger and improving my speed. Adjusting to Douglas County has been smooth; the coaching staff and teammates welcomed me right away,” Reese said.
The speedy 6’1″ 170 lbs. skill player is already turning heads on the track field, posting new personal records of 10.65 100m and a 21.45 200m.
“Track season has been solid so far. I’m building each race and still feel like I haven’t put together my best one yet. I’m just trusting the process and working to drop even more time as the season progresses,” he said.
Colleges are taking notice, and towards the end of February, Reese earned an offer from Penn State, making them his 5th FBS offer to date.
“I’m grateful for the Penn State offer. It means a lot to have a program like that believe in me. Recruitment has been exciting, but I’m staying focused on development and letting everything play out.”
Like the length of his film, Reese is quick on the field, and colleges will be excited to see the 2027 athlete up close and in person during the evaluation period in April and May. For now, Reese is maintaining optionality and planning his future visits.
“A few schools are standing out, but I’m still building relationships and keeping my options open. I’m planning to take some visits soon and learn more about each program before making any decisions,” Reese said.
With the track season well underway, Reese seems primed to be among the fastest two-sport football/track athletes in the state this spring, and that will increase his stock among college evaluators. For now, Colorado State, Kennesaw State, and USF join Penn State in pursuing the explosive athlete, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear the latest on Reese and athletes across the state of Georgia.
