Sleeper of the Day
Mark Howard
2025 Woodland-Stockbridge
Running Back
Howard has been an emerging 2025 running back who has accumulated some big stats in the early season. The senior is over 500 yards on the season so far and among the leading rushers in the state of Georgia. Howard has good body composition at 5’11” and 197 lbs. He has a reported 36″ vertical jump and the type of frame where he can continue to add a good bit of weight, especially when you consider his weight-lifting numbers. He’s a tough runner between the tackles who does a great job of driving his feet through contact. Howard has excellent vision at the LOS and can jump-cut across blockers to find a seam that would be hard to find for most running backs. It’s a unique quality to his rushing and something that he consistently demonstrates on film. A RB like Howard gives defenses a different look. His good balance and forward lean not only produce a lot of broken tackles, but he routinely finds himself falling forward for additional yardage. Howard has some potential as a receiver too. He will flash out to the flat from a chip block and create some positive plays where he proficiently utilizes his blocks. He doesn’t have true breakaway speed, but we feel like his weightlifting is just scratching at the surface, and Howard could very well be 215-220 in college. Given his excellent leg drive, running instincts, and toughness, he is a really quality back in this recruiting class who is under the radar. No doubt D1 RB.
Commitments
Ja’Von Broussard
2025 Wheeler
Cornell
Broussard has a great frame at 6’2″ and ran a reported 10.9 100m during last offseason. His length and physicality at the CB position are unique and should provide versatility to be a safety at the next level given how he continues to fill out his 6’2″ frame. Great commitment for Cornell, Broussard has the frame and speed to be a big-time steal for the Big Red.
Christian Winston
2025 Kennesaw Mt.
Army
The athlete edge out of Kennesaw Mountain is tough to handle. He is aggressive with his hands getting off blocks and has a quick first step. At 6’3″ and 220 lbs., Winston should push towards 240-250 at the college level. His motor creates some great tackle attempts where Winston just covers the whole width of the field to make a tackle on a receiver. You cannot teach that kind of motor, and it’s a perfect fit for Army.

Three ‘n Out
SR DL Timothy ‘TJ’ Griffin out of Alcovy took a visit to Alabama over the weekend and came back with his first P4 offer. During last offseason, we highlighted the huge 6’5″ 260 lbs. defensive lineman as a prospect to watch, and has started the year strong. Griffin’s immense upside should continue to attract college attention along with the dedication of the Alcovy coaching staff. In fact, he already has a visit to Florida planned for next weekend.

Zayden Cook is another sleeper prospect we covered last offseason and he is off to an insane start to the season. Cook has rushed for 849 yards and 11 touchdowns through 3 games. With impressive track times throughout the spring, we thought Cook would be burning defenses, but his staggering 14.1 yards per carry solidifies the senior as one of the fastest backs in Georgia. Cook had 338 yards on 17 carries against Mt. Zion-Carrollton on Friday, breaking the single-game rushing record at Chattooga.
Through 3 Games Chattooga Runningback Zayden Cook @ZaydenCook1 has 60 Carries for 849 yards(14.1 YPC) with 11 Touchdowns. He has also broken Chattooga Indian records of Longest TD Run (99Yards) and Most rushing yards in a single game (338). @NwGaFootball @chattoogaFB @RSgable pic.twitter.com/salMVl27fO

How about this? Lanier SR running back Tojuan Peyton Jr. just broke the school bench press record with a 340 max rep. Now that’s moving some weight! The dynamic 5’9″ 200 lbs. runner is committed to Memphis and has made some electric runs so far, even earning a spot in the top 10 plays of the week during Week 1.
