Sleeper of the Day
Jamar Worthy
2022 Decatur
The one time Druid Hills player earned All-Region HM as a sophomore and first team All-Region his junior year at Decatur. What stands out right away is the physicality that Worthy plays with. He does a very good job of getting inside positioning on the receiver. He is able to read the receiver pretty well and has the hip quickness to turn and get upfield fast. Doesn’t turn his head around on the pass every time, but does a nice job of reading the receiver and raking the pass out. Worthy reacts to the play quickly. He is a pretty smart player in zone defense breaking off and making a play on the football. Man coverage is solid, but definitely looks better in a zone, and why you see him sometimes at FS I would suppose too. Worthy scrapes off blocks and uses his agility well to make tackles out in the flat. Very smart football player. Reacts to the play very quickly and open-field tackling is pretty good too. Decatur has started off the season really well, and Worthy has become a bigger focus in their offensive attack playing RB some. He’s doing a better job of getting his head around in coverage and locating the football.
