Sleeper of the Day

Thomas Zimbaletti
2025 Richmond Hill
Offensive Lineman

Zimbalatti filled out nicely over the years and weighs around 315 lbs. The wide offensive guard prospect attaches himself to the defender and does a nice job of driving his legs through the defender. The 6’3″ lineman plays with good urgency getting out to his responsibility. He looks more comfortable as a straight-up blocker inside than a pulling guard, but he is looking more athletic senior year. Zimbalatti has strong fundamentals and consistently good hand placement. Plays with solid physicality and punch at the point of attack. Although he shows solid body control while engaged, we would like to see him continue to improve his flexibility, specifically in the hips, and focus on flattening out his back while engaged. The senior is a tough blocker, who sticks with his man and doesn’t stop until the whistle is blown. With a 390 lbs. bench press, you cannot argue with his general strength up top. Zimbalatti has improved a good bit over the last year. He is quicker at the point of attack, showing better lateral quickness, so his blocks are lining up better, and he is executing at a high level. Going into this season, we felt like more D1 programs would take an interest in Zimbalatti, and he’s off to a good start with The Citadel offering earlier this month.

Three ‘n Out

We talked about Brett Fitzgerald before the season as a 2025 kicker to watch closely this fall. Last Friday, the Colquitt kicker broke the state record in career extra points. Fitzgerald is a 4-year starter at Colquitt County and has taken recent visits to Tulane, Georgia Tech, and Florida State. Stay tuned for the rest of the season, we suspect that more records could be broken.

Lanier County SR and All-State athlete BJ Jones is starting the year great with 383 receiving yards on 20 catches and 3 touchdowns while also plucking 3 interceptions and 20 tackles on defense. The senior athlete has been a key playmaker for Lanier County since his freshman year and has seen college interest throughout high school. At the beginning of this recruiting cycle, Jones held offers from many D1 programs including Georgia State, Liberty, and Coastal Carolina, so he has the talent to attract big-time college interest. This midseason film should rekindle additional D1 eyes.

Elijah Griffin is a big dude. At 6’5″ and 300 lbs., the defensive tackle is a weightlifting freak and has been a consensus 5-star recruit since he was an underclassman. Griffin is down to his final 3 schools Miami, Southern Cal, and UGA. He will be taking a visit soon to UGA per Jeremy Johnson of On3 Sports. The 2025 prospect was one of the first prospects we identified in his recruiting class; granted it doesn’t take a genius to see a freshman bench press 360 and deadlift 600 and know they could be a great lineman.
