Recruiting Recap 8/5

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! Thanks again for stopping by, and if you are new here, this is a feature that we do each weekday summarizing yesterday’s offers, commitments and our sleeper of the day too.

I hope everyone is doing well, we just started getting back into the swing of things with our preseason content. Last night was Class A in public and private. Tonight will be 2A and we will have the remainder of the classes published throughout the week, so stay tuned!

Colleges, we are forming the best 2022 database as I type this out, if you want the inside track on 2022 there is no better option. We have subscribers who use National Preps and XOS and the feedback is our information here at Recruit Georgia is better – that is of course if you have a member of your staff who knows Excel. Email recruitgeorgia1@gmail.com for more info.

Well, that’s all I got. I hope practices are going well across the state! Be sure to mask up in public and lets get this current trend down! – David

Sleeper of the Day

Arlis Sutton
2021 Coffee

Sutton is just pure and simple an explosive football player. Ignore the height and weight here and just watch his film – you have to be impressed. He’s extremely fast off the football, to the point where you know for a fact that he could play OLB at the next level. He led his region in sacks with 8, should be able to get into double digits no problem in 2020. Just a freak athlete, and from the player comment box he says that he is one of the top cleanjerk lifters in the country – definitely can see that. Sutton could stand to work on his lateral quickness – something we have seen him work on this offseason. He uses his hands extremely well getting off blocks and just a natural getting out to the edge. Crazy the amount of hustle he shows on film. Sutton is a legit football player, and should be one of the top defenders in his classification in 2020. If he gets some reps at linebacker this year, or at least standing up and playing more in space, that would obviously sell to colleges, but the urgency he plays with havoc he creates in the backfield should make a good argument too. Size doesn’t always matter when you are this explosive like Sutton. Word around Coffee is that Sutton has a crazy high work ethic too. We first heard about Sutton though from another high school coach in a completely different side of the state, but that really shows how good he is, when random coaches with no attachment to Sutton are letting us know.
