Sleeper of the Day
Tip Tippins
2025 Whitefield Acd.
Offensive Tackle
Tippins is a high-upside OL out of Whitefield Academy with the frame that should attract a lot of D1 interest down the stretch on this recruiting cycle. At 6’5″ and 270 lbs., Tippins has the length to control defenders with leverage, utilizing all 80″ of his wingspan to get underneath the pads. He is looking quicker than ever coming out of his stance, seriously a noticeable jump, and looks more violent at the point of attack. Tippins has the potential to be an impressive downfield blocker at the next level. He is a solid athlete, keeps a flat back while blocking, and generally shows good pad level while run blocking, which is a strength. Continuing to work on body control while engaged is a key area of development. Tippins has excellent leg drive while engaged. Really like him on the perimeter scoop blocking, shows impressive length and athleticism. As a pass blocker, Tippins will need to continue to improve his foot quickness, and just clean up his footwork. He will be an RT at the next level. The early season film from his senior year catches my eye for sure, Tippins looks like the type of offensive tackle that D1 programs need to circle back around.

Three ‘n Out
Douglas County star athlete James Johnson will be announcing his college decision on August 30th. The do-it-all athlete was an All-State selection last fall and voted runner-up for Player of the Year 6A on the site. Johnson is widely considered among the most dynamic playmakers in not only the state but the entire country. The senior decides between LSU, UGA, Southern Cal, Ohio State, and UCF, so mark your calendars for this Friday.

Better get Sprayberry TE Aiden Lynch on your radar. The 6’4″ 220 lbs. prospect looked impressive as a receiver with a long reception for a score and another corner endzone catch where he perfectly keeps his feet in bounds. Lynch had several physical blocks in space too. With a 4.12 GPA and an impressive early-season film, we feel like D1 programs are going to take another look at Lynch here. There is just too much TE talent in the state of Georgia that impressive prospects like Lynch go under the radar.

Greenville senior Marquel Deering has dedicated this season to his ‘pops’ who passed away last April. After two games, he is off to a great start, and Deering has 244 yards rushing on just 17 carries with 2 touchdowns. The 6’2″ 200 lbs. athlete has looked impressive changing tempo at the line of scrimmage and does a nice job of fighting for every extra yard. He’s been productive on defense too with several tackles for a loss. Deering is doing a great job of honoring his ‘pops’ this 2024 season.
