Recruiting Recap 7/24

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! We have all your recruiting action from yesterday right here, so scroll on down below to see the latest offers, commitments and of course our sleeper of the day!

Also, just want to say thanks again for everyone who continues to come to the webpage! If you get a minute, please tell a friend about Recruit Georgia and the coverage we provide! With the season upcoming (fingers crossed!), we will continue to ramp up coverage with Preseason All-State picks, team rankings and player rankings too.

There is a lot going down for sure, and we have some other ideas cooking in the pot too. Also, I know I’m probably a broken record, but college coaches please contact recruitgeorgia1@gmail.com for our premium database. We think this is the best database in the country on Georgia, but also just give our public profiles on the website a chance too.

Hope everyone is ready for the weekend, I know we are over at Recruit Georgia. – David

Commitments

Kaleb Anthony
2021 ELCA
UCONN

Scoop: Anthony must really like schools that go by their acronym, but seriously, the 2021 cornerback is an awesome get. He’s got good size at 6′, and we really think his acceleration and open field tackling is some of the best in this class at CB. Anthony had a handful of offers, but UCONN’s midsummer offer was just too much to pass up. Checkout an article we wrote earlier this summer on on Anthony.

Jordan Grier
2021 Cedar Grove
Indiana

Scoop: Grier has been a consistent fixture in Cedar Grove’s dominance as of late, and the smart safety just always seems to be in the right spot. Grier has good size at 6′ 182 lbs. and the versatility to play multiple DB spots at the next level. Indiana will definitely have flexibility in where they line him up. Grier choose Indiana over offers from ECU, Pitt, Kansas State, Memphis, App State, Coastal, and Kansas.

Heating Up

Raul Aguirre
2023 Locust Grove

The rising sophomore was a standout at the MVP Camp last weekend where basically in attendance was raving about the athletic linebacker. Well, shortly after now Tennessee and UGA have offered. At 6’2″ and 215 lbs., Aguirre has the athletic upside that should intrigue every P5 team in the country, and you can bet that more offers are on the way, like very soon. Freshman film is solid, what stands out the most is his instincts in pass coverage, which is rare for a young linebacker. Definitely a prospect to watch closely here.

Sleeper of the Day

Drew Allison
2021 Lumpkin Co.

Allison is a strong bouncy athlete who plays with really impressive leg drive and tenacity. He does a very good job of driving the ball carrier back when making a tackle. I really like how he meets the ball carrier and just the general strength he shows. The 2021 recruit is pretty versatile lining up at OLB, SS and even getting some reps at RB. Allison is just a pure football player who will do whatever is asked, and go 100% percent on each play. That energy is the real difference maker, but you got to like his 6’3″ frame and how it will fill out at the next level. He gets off blocks pretty quickly, showing good punch with his hands. There is some really quality film tucked away here for Allison, and is definitely one of the more underrated players in North Georgia. Improving his tackling technique and just working his fundamentals in general would go a long way for Allison, but he is definitely a high-caliber athlete. Allison is now up to 240 lbs. and quickly looking like a DE prospect here. So underrated it blows our mind his lack of college interest.
