Recruiting Recap 9/24

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! Sorry for the small hiatus, been doing a lot of scouting in the early season and just couldn’t pull away. Back to more consistent recaps and we’ll a quick recap of all of the offers that happened over the week so far.

Thanks for stopping by again, and I appreciate everyone who continuously show up to this feature, but if you are new here this is where we tally up the offers, commitments and also do a sleeper of the day. We also do a heating up feature, but only when applicable.

We’ll get right into it though, hope everyone is having a great week so far! – David

Sleeper of the Day

Kolbe Benham
2021 Cartersville

Benham is also a standout at basketball, which explains his solid lateral quickness. The 2021 defensive back prospect moves pretty well in general and does a nice job playing man coverage at the NB position. He makes some tough catches whether at DB or WR. Full extension where he sprawls out for the ball. Created a few fumbles in 2019 where he adeptly strips the ball. Pretty good open field tackler. Needs to set his feet up more going into an attempt. Back pedal needs to get lighter too. Benham is an interesting prospect – he shows a nice skill set tackling and in coverage, but needs to get quicker in the hips to be a true coverage corner, so maybe NB at the next level is the best fit? As a slot receiver he does a nice job of getting up field and keeps his pads real low. Senior year he is playing FS, laying out some big hits in the open field. Definitely looks more physical here, these are some huge hits here, against some quality opponents too. Benham holds a 3.6 GPA, he’s 6′ and 180 lbs. with offers from Reinhardt, Mt. St. Joseph, Birmingham Southern and Marist. In our opinion, the 2021 DB is a D1 athlete, we have posted his most recent film against Alexander down below where he confirmed that projection again.
