Recruiting Recap 7/1

Welcome to another, slightly late, edition of the Recruiting Recap! I’ll jump right into things, but as most of you know, this is a feature that finds all of yesterday’s offers, commitments, and our sleeper of the day!

Since it is the dead week, and recruiting info is low, we are going to forego the three heating up feature this week, but will be back in action next week.

Colleges interested in recruiting the state better than ever? Well our summer recruiting update to our NCAA compliant database will be done here in the next few days. We have compiled close to 1000 football players we believe will play at the next level, so contact recruitgeorgia1@gmail.com or continue to come by our site to find our free public profiles that we make daily!

Sleeper of the Day

Dakota Collins
2021 Cherokee Bluff

Collins’ production was pretty dang impressive in 2019 with 128 tackles, 9 tackles for loss and 4 sacks – to go along with 17 pressures and 3 forced fumbles. He has solid size and from what we have seen this offseason is a hard worker too. He is a nice high energy player, seems to close on the ball carrier quickly. Gets out of stance quickly too and I really like how he closes on the ball carrier. Definitely would like to see less arm tackles and for him to keep his feet through the attempt. He creates a good bit of havoc even on passing downs with several PBU’s. Collins works hard getting after the ball carrier and books it on the backside pursuing the ball carrier. He is all gas no breaks. Needs to continue to develop as a pass-rusher though. Has a similar frame to Chase Thomas from 12 years back, probably a good fit to play 3-4 OLB at the next level. Needs to just continue to get stronger in the lower body, especially at the hips. He shows pretty light feet, and think with more work with his pass rush moves he will take his game another notch this fall. Tested out with a 10’1″ broad jump and 36 vertical with our partners at 180 Performance – he definitely has FBS potential given his quick-twitch and size.
