Sleeper of the Day

Elliott Howell
2021 Arabia Mt.

Howell was at DT and OT last year, and just taking a look at his film, and the first thing that stands out is how strong his hands are at the point of attack. He has some legit punch and does a very good job of driving his opponent back. On either side of the ball. He shows pretty good leg drive, and pretty dang tough at getting his man down too. Howell has a solid frame to work with at about 6’3″ maybe 6’4″ and appears to have fairly long arms. He’s definitely a better blocker right now than at DT. He is pretty quick out of his stance. Gets to the 2nd level quickly. Fairly wide shoulders, I think that Howell will end up around 300 lbs. at the next level. He keeps a pretty flat back when blocking, but he is mostly anchored by a strong lower base. Howell has a lot of potential to play at the FBS level honestly. He just has that mindset to play OL, and seems to have good body control while engaged. He has an offer from Tenn State and Tuskegee, but personally think Howell is one of the biggest sleeper linemen still uncommitted in the state of Georgia.
