Recruiting Recap 10/7

Welcome to another edition of the Recruiting Recap! Thanks for stopping by, and if you are new here, this is a feature where we cover all of yesterday’s offers, commitments and also a featured sleeper of the day. Sometimes we do a heating up feature, that just depends on if a recruit is seeing a sudden increase in college offers.

I hope everyone is doing well, and is ready to attack the day! We will have multiple stories up later this day covering athletes who made the top 3 plays of last week, so stay tuned for that. We also just came out with our GHSA Team Rankings last night for Week 6, which is definitely worth taking a look.

Thanks again for stopping by and the continued support! – David

Sleeper of the Day

Josh Rogers
2021 ELCA

Rogers has been a backup the last few years, but nearly averaged 10 yards per carry and went over the 1000 yard marker multiple times. Rogers is a nice quick little slot back, he’s got above average speed and nice forward lean in his running. Looks like a natural athlete, but smaller frame can and will be a detractor. He has good potential as a hybrid slot back. Rogers sees cutback angles and explodes through his cut. Does a nice job of following his blocks and has pretty good patience letting the play open up. Tough as nails too. That forward natural running form keeps him moving forward after contact. We suspected Rogers will end up being one of the leaders in Class A in rushing, and right now he is on pace for exactly that. Rogers has grown a little over the last year, and is now a reported 5’6″ and 167 lbs. He holds offers from Savannah State and Reinhardt. No doubt, any option team should be giving Rogers a look in our eyes. His ability to get out of tackles in tight spaces and toughness to get extra yards is some of the best in the class of 2021. Also, cannot deny his production over his HS career where he has 2722 yards rushing, a little over 500 on the season, and 33 total touchdowns. He should eclipse 4000 yards by the end of the 2020 season while averaging right at 10 yards per carry during his career. Down below is his film from the first game of the season.
