Sleeper of the Day

Damion Fitzpatrick
2021 Arabia Mt.

Fitzpatrick has an excellent frame to work with and already 195 lbs. He could eventually grow into a WILL at the next level even considering his 6’2-3″ frame. He is a fluid athlete with a powerful running gait. Even played some wildcat/QB last year as a junior just get the ball into his hands. The 2021 recruit hits hard, and closes well on the ball carrier. He takes off and erases angles quickly that the ball carrier may have. Definitely like that he plays QB, shows that Fitzpatrick is a versatile talent that can adapt to new situations quickly. Fitzpatrick didn’t start playing this fall until later in the year, but still ended up with 4 interceptions. Fitzpatrick was really a turnover machine his senior year dislodging the football in a number of ways – would guess he forced 7-8 turnovers here in 2020, and remember he played a reduced season. He showed off his versatility in coverage primarily playing boundary cornerback. His straight-line speed is pretty good, but doesn’t rotate hips quick enough to play CB at the next level, is a good candidate to play safety. Fitzpatrick earned an offer from ETSU in November, and before that, his last offer was back in May, so his recruitment has died down, but should still be considered one of the top DB recruits still uncommitted in the state of Georgia.
