Cole was a rotation target last year in SE Whitfield’s high powered offense. The 2019 target stands at 6’4″ and weights around 240 lbs. He could stand to use lose some baby fat, and it doesn’t look like he is done growing either at this point. Cole shows some promising film. He does a nice job releasing up field. In the redzone he makes himself a big target, which resulted in a few scores last fall. He has good hands, and does a nice job of shielding the defender from the pass. Nimble enough feet and good sideline awareness allows for him to toe tap before going out of bounds on a catch. Cole is a solid blocker, he gets okay extension with his arms and drives his feet pretty well. Senior year he is showing a much more aggressive nature to his game, and getting a nice push at the point of attack while run blocking. Doing a much better job of keeping his back flat while engaged with a defender and really using his size to his advantage. Cole is still growing into his body, and should take another athletic jump at the next level even. This offseason he is making a lot of top 3 TE’s at a camps and making a really nice TD grab in the spring game where he looked a lot more aggressive attacking the pass. He has been a focal of point of the offense senior year, getting a lot of redzone targets, and doing a nice job high pointing the football out in front of the DB.
