Saunders played his first year at wide receiver after suiting up as a QB the last few years. The 2019 athlete is still getting a feel for the position switch, and last fall predominantly in the slot where he could block or go out in the flat as a receiver. Saunders has above average size for a receiver, and if he continues to fill out his frame at 6’2″, he shows the potential as an h-back based off his current body of work. Next fall I need to see him run a wide variation of routes, and for him to create more separation with the defense. In some cases when he has the football we would like to see him square up his pads and run down field – right now there is a hesitation and that cannot be for a player who is mostly running routes out to the flat. Realistically Saunders will grow another 20 lbs and be a TE slot receiver that is in vogue.
