Smith has been groomed to be the starting ILB for Stephenson dating back to his freshman season. He seems to be always around the football and shows excellent agility, which definitely helps. Makes quick reactions in the tackle box, doesn’t fall for screen passes and is right on top of the receiver. Definitely meant for a spread offense and will have to play WILL at the next level. Smith is a good tackler who meets the ball carrier at the waist and wraps up at the thighs. Would like to see him drop his hips though and not lose his feet on contact. Drive for five as they say.
