Davis was region defensive player of the year in 2019 for one of the top defenses in the entire southeast. The 2021 linebacker stands about 6’2″ and definitely hits with impact. Davis tackles through the defender and several times on film you see the 2021 recruit just take on players much bigger and drives them back. He plays some DE at Lowndes too and shows excellent acceleration getting out his stance. Davis’ closing speed is by far his best skill. He is a nice fit to play OLB at the next level, but should have the opportunity to show his stuff senior year at MIKE. Davis does seem to tackle a little too high, and doesn’t always show the best fundamentals when it comes to meeting the ball carrier. He does a pretty good job of setting the edge, but what makes the 2021 recruit so good is his all out hustle and acceleration to the football.
