Gelin has been splitting snaps the last few years at Thomasville, but headed into his senior year he looks to be the primary ball carrier. He doesn’t have the speed that his counterpart showed, but he is a tough back with a compact frame. He says low to the ground, makes hard cuts right at the line of scrimmage. The 2019 recruit shows good vision utilizing his blocks. He has a deceptive step, and effortless accelerates by and around the defenders on his initial burst. Gelin also shows good balance in the lower body, allows him to step out of tackles or at least fall forward for extra yardage. He is a good pass blocker, does a good job of picking up blitzes. Thomasville team is working like crazy to get better, so we would be surprised not to see him take another jump, potentially get close to 200 pounds heading into next fall.
