Smart player

When you watch Shawn Clottey there really is a lot to like. The 2019 OG has been a player that we have had our eye on for a good bit now, and his early SR film looks pretty darn good. First, the 2019 OL does a really good job making his blocks while keeping a flat back. He generates a lot of power, more than players who lift better numbers in the weight room, but his fundamentals is pretty solid for a HS lineman. Which brings us to our 2nd point. The offensive guard prospect needs work in the weight room, but his upside there is high. I like his frame a good bit, and at 270 lbs there is a lot to work with. Clottey does a really good job with his hand placement and getting leverage. He needs to get a little stronger, especially when pass blocking, he seems to get knocked more off balance. It’s surprising the lack of interest Clottey is getting right now with his strong senior film out there for a few weeks now, but I think his recruitment could really heat up as the 2019 recruiting cycle winds down.
