What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

What makes me stand out against competition is my range and my body size to be able box out cornerbacks easily also being able to come off Man Press coverage.

From measurements alone, you would Jackson would have already had an impact on the varsity squad, but bouncing between New Manchester than to Norcross led to an adjustment period. He’s got a powerful frame, and his skills consistently show through the years seems to be pretty pure as a football player, and with a background as a receiver, Jackson has really taken to safety over the last year. That’s a good fit considering his 6’2″ frame. He had a solid season at Norcross during his junior year, making nice open field tackles. In the Elite GA All-Star game he made a perfect read on a 30 yard pass down the middle where he jumped it perfectly. His background at receiver and his nice frame really suggest that Roland Jackson has some legit D1 ability. I really like how he plays the football – has a lot of natural tools for the safety position. Tackling is okay, he shows good effort coming from the backside making tackles, causes a few fumbles. Needs to get better leverage when taking on blockers, has the physical tools to dominate, and blow up these plays. Jackson is now up to 195 lbs, got feel good about how he is rounding out his weight, and should be considered a legit D1 talent. Looking better at playing close to the LOS where his bigger frame can really create chaos.
