Bonner can run the football for sure, and he shows an effortless stride. He has a bouncy step to his game, and coming off the read option he can really explode up field. Bonner gets his pads low too, but just doesn’t have the muscle to get much push for extra yardage. He shows above average arm strength snapping off some tight ropes on slant passes. Bonner managed the offense as a sophomore, and was not asked to do anything too exotic when reading a defense. They were very simple plays, but he did them effectively with good timing too. This year, he will be the offense at Meadowcreek, and he is primed for a season where he gets closer to 2500 total yards. Bonner should absolutely be on option schools’ radars, his throwing has some real potential and there is no doubt that he is a talented runner. Learning to sell the mesh even better (he’s really good at it already) will really open up the offense more and get his game to another level.
