Gaskins has slipped through the radar until this spring when FBS schools started to take interest. He is bigger cornerback prospect has pretty reactive feet and does a decent job with his backpedal showing light feet. Very solid size at 6’2″. Played his junior year at Pace Academy, where he did a good job using his length to press receivers at the LOS. He is a pretty good tackler in space. Not very good getting off his blocks. He has the potential to be a solid boundary cornerback. Not sure his hips are quick enough to play cornerback in too much space. At this point, Gaskins doesn’t really have a lot of production on the field. Watching film from the MVP camp in April Gaskins certainly shows solid agility and physicality with decent recovery speed, but also think he might be a better fit as a free safety too. Excellent grades though, Gaskins is a legit student-athlete. Not very impressed with his tackling, would honestly like to see more production, but he must be doing well this offseason to earn these P5 offers.
