Corkery is one of those athletes you see on film, and immediately make a note about him being a D1 caliber athlete. The two year started has amounted 148 tackles at a 7.4 average. He is explosive and does a terrific job meeting the ball carrier square in the numbers. Corkery has solid speed and his acceleration is very good so he makes a good bit plays out on the flat. He also plays some b-back for Jefferson where his leg drive churns out tons of extra yards. I really like how he gauges his tackles and his pursuit angles in general. He does a very good job of closing the gap and not getting out position. I would like to see him get lower with his tackle attempts. He does a decent job of setting the edge but would like to see him be more forceful with his hands and work on getting off his blocks quicker.
