Davis plays with really good hip bend and just explodes right out of his stance. He keeps a really flat back while also keeping his eyes up locating his target at the 2nd level; the 2019 recruit is a MLB’s worse nightmare. He does a great job of getting inside his opponent’s pads and driving his legs until they are pancaked to the ground. Davis is also a solid pass blocker, he does a good job of picking up blitzers but where he makes his hay is run blocking. He shows great hustle too getting way down field on screen plays. Davis looks to be one of the best 2019 centers we have evaluated thus far plus he’s easily on track to be NCAA qualified. No film from last fall (injured his knee), but was impressed with Davis by a good bit from sophomore film alone. Frame is a concern, wondering if he can get close to 300 to play at the FBS level. Very smart kid, high-character who is ready to get back on the field and prove all the colleges he is over his leg injury. Davis is now getting reps at LT this season, but that should really indicate how versatile he is as a blocker. He is best suited still to play C.
