Brooks has been a multi year starter over Veterans getting reps back his sophomore year. He is a smart SS prospect who is a very efficient tackler coming in low and showing good consistency getting the ball carrier down. He does a very nice job of dropping his hips and exploding through with his tackle attempts. Brooks has pretty solid awareness on the field. He mostly plays a shallow zone in the flat, but keeps his eyes and hips on a swivel so he is around the football fast. He’s added about 10 lbs. to his frame and now quickly getting to 190. Really like the acceleration to the football. Brooks is able to close the gap on the ball carrier quickly and his efficiency as a solo tackler is good. Brooks is pretty good fighting off blocks, but would like to see quicker hands. Overall, I really like the hustle and general instincts the 2022 recruit shows. He might not be the biggest guy on the field, but a very smart player with a good motor.
