What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?
I am a long and versatile DB that can play anywhere from Safety (free or strong), I can come down and play outside linebacker or nickel, then I can play corner also.
Howell is getting substantial D1 interest going into his senior year. The free safety for North does a good job of getting downhill and is quick getting into run support. He does appear to have long arms, and you see those come in good use when breaking up a pass down the middle where he tomahawks the football out of a receivers hands. He is pretty good in pass coverage, even playing some CB. Shows very quick feet and reactions with the receiver. Not sure why he didn’t get more reps at CB, but I definitely like how agile the 6’1″ defenders looks in man coverage. Howell definitely has a FBS caliber body, and only played 6 games in 2019.
