Taylor plays tight man coverage and is a smart athlete who reads the QB’s eyes and shows solid acceleration jumping the pass. He is very physical off the edge and does a nice job of setting it. As a strong safety prospect he ended up with 4-5 interceptions, several where he just read the screen pass perfectly. Taylor is looking to play downhill. He is very aggressive. Needs to get stronger, especially in the lower body, but Taylor’s quickness gets him good spots. Tackling is very good meeting the ball carrier at the midsection and wrapping up at the thighs. Taylor is really more of a OLB at the HS level, but shows the quickness and acceleration to play NB at the next level. Would like to see more consistency with his tackling, he does tend to use his arms. Taylor’s ability to play off the edge is very good though, and he should be a solid screen buster at the net level. He created a fair amount of turnovers last year, some of that was due to his excellent hustle but also just good football instincts.
