Binford is a player that from a measurement standpoint you should probably throw the results out the window. At less than 190 lbs. Binford doesn’t exactly have glowing size to bring down college running backs just yet, but his motor and production to be around the football was near the tops in the state last year. The 2020 recruit always finds himself near the football – even breaking back on play fakes to tackle a receiver down field. He is tough on the edge though, and that’s where he fits best, in a 3-5-3 defense where he can play out in space. Need to see him do more in zone coverage right now. He is mostly in man coverage, and not sure he shows the agility or hip flexibility to be too proficient there at the next level. That’s where he needs to improve the most. Binford needs to be quicker moving laterally, especially for a player his size. He does a great job of hustling after the ball carrier and is relentless in pursuit, but change of direction is just not good enough.
