#56 DEFENSIVE LINEMAN

Johnson has added nearly 20 lbs over the last 6 months heading into this season. Last year the powerful defensive prospect did a really impressive job using his hands to get off blocks and make a play. what really stands out about Johnson is ability to jump the snap. Consistently on film he is one of the first to get out his stance, and considering last year’s Hapeville defensive line that should say a lot. Leverage and hand strength were impressive factors to Johnson’s game a year ago, and with 20 lbs of muscle added to his frame it’s easy to have high expectations heading into this fall. He should get a ton of reps and really bolster his chances to play at a high level. First, this summer should prove to be very productive. Johnson is a bit of tweener right now but considering the progress he has made in gaining weight it’s conceivable he can play DT. An even better fit would be played DE in a 3-4 or more traditionally become a SDE in a 4-3 too.
