Davis’ tackle total was over 80 on the year, which is really impressive for a defensive lineman. It says a lot about his motor and urgency he plays the game with. Consistently you see the defensive end get a really good jump on the snap. He sheds blocks quickly, knock the offensive lineman off balance, and shows the lateral quickness to get around and make a tackle for loss. He does a great job fitting himself through the gaps, and split offensive lineman. Where he impressed the most is tackling – no surprise since he was a state leader at the defensive end spot. Fundamentally he does a great job of wrapping up and the determination to get the ball carrier down quickly. Certainly looks like he will gain weight, and grow into a SDE at the next level.
