Daniels is a name that was specifically brought up to us from the Grayson crew over the years and multiple staffs. For the last two years Daniels has been a defensive stalwart for his Grayson squad. The way the 2020 linebacker tackles through the body of the ball carrier, I think there will be very little adjustment for him at the next level. He is a powerful athlete, but what catches my eyes is his ability to jump the play and accelerate quickly to the ball carrier. Daniels is like a shark out there, as soon as the RB makes a slow cut that is like blood in the water and he closes. Need to see him drive his legs through the tackle more. Height is not completely on his side, he’s just about 6′, but Daniels can play, and his excellent grades should really keep his recruiting interest high. Very smart player, does a nice job of reading screen passes and has the quickness to get around blocks. I really like how low he gets on his tackle attempts, Daniels does a very good job of meeting the ball carrier in the gaps. Watching his senior year and it much of the same with Daniel exploding thru the gaps and driving the ball carrier 5 yards back. He made a clutch blocked field goal against Archer that was a key win and his team’s defense seemed to be a lot more discipline this year giving less points as a whole. Takes on blockers with ferocious hands and looks to be improved in the passing game too.
