What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?
As a future college athlete, I feel like I stand out because I can get my eyes in the right place to be able to make plays. I have very good closing speed and quickness, and I am also an extremely hard worker and will always give %100 effort.
Barnes started every game the last few seasons at Dawson County. Last fall, he continued to improve, and now averaging 10 tackles per game. The 2019 athlete keeps his hips on a swivel, does a nice job sinking the before tackle and explodes through. That sort of text book tackling technique will certainly grab any college attention. He’s got pretty good speed, and his outstanding reactions make for a lot. He reads the QB’s quickly, and gets his hands on the ball a lot for a defensive player. Very impressed with the amount of PBU’s he totaled. Barnes is a legit football player, and we think the way he hits and his size makes him a fit to play SS at the D1 level. He’s added about 10 lbs to his frame over the last 6-8 months.
