The 6’5″ 245 lbs. two-way player at Chapel Hill found ways to make an impact throughout the last few seasons. Williams has the frame that almost every D1 program looks for with guys on the edge. He has good length, and although his pad level needs work, he does a nice job of getting underneath his opponent’s pads. You can see the raw upside on both sides of the football, but it does seem that his general mindset is more built around the offensive side of the ball. Williams is an excellent blocking TE who shows nice leg drive and motor while engaged. He keeps after the defender, driving them upfield. Sticky hands and the length is a difference-maker. Although Williams has no film catching the football, his blocking does impress, and considering his frame, and general motor, that is probably the best position. So in some ways, despite no receiving film this season, Williams is an underrated blocking TE. Plus, he could potentially gain more weight and become an offensive tackle too. Williams is a raw football player but the upside is just too enticing.
