Khiari McCoy – RB
Carver-COL

#6 RUNNING BACK

HT: 5’7″
WT: 180
Class: 2020

McCoy has some of the best balance of any 2020 back in the state of Georgia. It doesn’t hurt that he’s so close to the ground, but either way, it’s hard to knock him off his feet. He has a quasi-breakout year last season, where Carver was still exploring ways to get him the football. Junior year he was obviously the guy at back rushing for 1400 yards. Understanding angles, and how to get a defender to take an indirect one is a skill for McCoy, and his cuts always seem to be one step ahead. He’s a lot stronger than he looks, and weak arm tackles just does not get him down. He has a legit burst where he can accelerate to his top speed in a short distance. There was some tough defense he went up against last year, against all comers he made an impact. His open field speed is the biggest question mark, when he gets into the open field he tends to get caught from behind, but that has improved more his senior year. Fits best as a slot or APB in a spread system where he plays out on the perimeter predominantly and can utilize his blocks.
