McCloud gets out his stance quickly, and does a solid job of locating defenders at the 2nd level. He plays with a wide base a strong punch at the point of attack. Needs to continue to flatten out his back. Weight lifting numbers have been good this offseason. It’s been a slow work in progress for the 2022 recruit, but with the emphasis of weight lifting now in the program he has made good progress over the last year. He appears to have solid length, and able to get good leverage. Hand placement is on point, keeping his mitts inside the shoulder pads of the defender. Leg drive is okay, but would like to see him generate even more power. The 2022 recruit is a solid blocker with decent skill set as both a pass blocker and run. He’s definitely more of a fit as an OG at the next level, really think he could be utilized effectively as a pulling OG. The athleticism is there, but overall we would like to see him finish his blocks better.
