Kennedy had a good junior year, and though he is not a burner, at 5’11” and 200 lbs, he shows good wiggle in tight spaces. Very compact body type, does a nice job of keeping his feet through contact. Needs to get quicker with his feet, they can be a bit sluggish, and not a lot of drive with his running stride. Needs to play behind his pads more, get lower before contact to take advantage of his powerful frame. Kennedy has above average vision, he gets to the 2nd level and makes quick cuts to get past the defense. Needs to do a better job of using his blocks, several situations where he could bounce it outside for a lot more yards. Kennedy seems to be hyper-focused on getting up field, and sometimes misses the biggest possible play. Lack of breakaway speed is probably the biggest deterrent, but with film review, I think Kennedy can maximize his talents regardless of getting faster. I think Kennedy can play at the FCS level though, his bigger frame and running style indicates he should be a productive back at the next level. If he takes a jump with his speed, then his recruitment could really open up.
