The exciting passing attack at Clarke Central was highlighted by a duo – Justin Hodges being one part of it. At 6’2″, the 2021 recruit has a long running stride and once he hits full stride he covers some serious ground. I can see him filling out his frame and taking another jump in that department. Route running is okay, he needs to sell his routes more and crisp up his footwork. Hodges reads the pass pretty well and does a good job of working his way back to the ball. In terms of just pure FBS athleticism then Hodges shows that kind of potential considering his long athletic stride and springy ability to jump and eclipse the defensive back from the football. What catches my eye with Hodges is how quickly he hits top speed on his release, and even though his route running needs work, he still explodes out his breaks on comeback routes. He’s a D1 player no doubt, how he develops this offseason with route running and filling out his frame will really make the diff in his recruitment.
