What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

My work ethic

Johnson has been playing great this season for one of the best teams in 4A. The senior defender has a D1 frame at 6’4″ 250 lbs., and shows an excellent motor after the ball carrier. Good hand placement, showing a lot better activity with his hands getting off blocks and driving his legs through the offensive lineman. Shows a good swim move with solid quickness in his hands and feet. Johnson has taken an athletic jump getting off the line, and you see him close the gap faster than ever. Does a nice job wrapping up the attempt and driving his legs. Johnson has made a nice jump on film, looking more refined with his hand placement and footwork, which making a difference getting off blocks. He is playing more physical this year, and that’s a discernible difference from his junior film. He played some TE as a junior, leaking out to the flat but seems like senior year he is exclusively at DL. Overall, you have to like his general hustle and with his current frame, he should continue to fill out and be a DT. His frame wouldn’t be terrible at OL, especially with an 80″ wingspan, but aside from his TE film from junior year where he is blocking, Johnson seems like a DL, which is the likely area of impact in college. That’s where he has improved the most over the last year, and it’s very evident in his senior film.
