Johnson is a very explosive football player who can cover a ton of turf on defense. He does a great job of squaring up right before the tackle, and consistently see him hit the ball carrier in the numbers. When goes low, the 2019 recruit can really explode through his tackle. He already weighs 187 pounds, and can see him getting to around 200 by next fall. This spring he ran one of the fastest hand-timed 40 times we have seen so far. His elite speed can certainly make a difference defending against the spread offense. He caused a handful of fumbles last year. Would like to see him in pass coverage more, and that’s going to what most colleges will be looking for at summer camps.
