Jonathan Jefferson – DE
Douglas Co.

#12 DEFENSIVE END

HT: 6’4″
WT: 250
Class: 2021
40: 4.9

Jefferson has put up huge numbers the last few years at Douglas, and has been receiving a lot of interest from P5 programs from almost his very first few games as a freshman. He’s ballooned since then, and is now 250 lbs, which you know, I didn’t really see that coming from watching his early film in his career. Speed is okay off the line, but what is more surprising above all else is that Jefferson got a lot of reps at receiver this year. Honestly, I would like to see him be a little more physical at the point of attack, and he typically is engaging too high or even making a tackle from an angle that makes it tough to get the ball carrier down efficiently. It’s a common theme in his junior film. Swim move is pretty good, and definitely like the intensity he plays, the DL coach at DC, Soli, is very good at getting his players to use their hands well. He actually looks like an interesting prospect at TE or considering how much weight he has added over the last few years, he could even become a DT, which I never saw coming, honestly.
