Burgess has a herky jerky running style that led to 1300 yards and 13 touchdowns – a whopping 9 yards per carry. His slashing can carve up a defense, and it seems like a good fit for a team that can get him out in space. Natural runner, just hard to tackle, very elusive in the open field, but not break away speed either. He was one of the best rushers in Class A private this year. Excellent vision, makes timely cutbacks and uses his blocks really well. Burgess has really good acceleration, and that’s when you start to hear about his talents as a defensive back. Word around the Columbus area, but Burgess is one of the top DB’s. He made All Area and overall shows good length and agility to play DB at the next level. Burgess is a solid tackler out in the open field too. His upside is highest as a DB, just needs more time in the weight room so he can fill out his frame. Like his potential as a punter returner too. Finished off senior year on defense with 5 INT’s and 3 FF.
